Pacific-12 Conference

The Pacific-12 Conference, commonly referred to as the Pac-12, is an athletic conference that participates in NCAA Division I. It consists of twelve universities located primarily on the west coast of the United States: Arizona State University, University of Arizona, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California at Berkeley (Cal), Oregon State University, Stanford University, Washington StateUniversity and three other schools – The Univeristy Of Colorado Boulder ,Univerisity Of Utah And university Of Washingon .

Originally founded in 1915 under its former name – the Pacific Coast Conference – each school eventually found itself competing independently within their respective regions until a dramatic restructuring occurred in 1959 when ten members from both conferences merged into one unified organization. This merger was then rebranded as what we now know today as the Pac-12. A twelfth member joined in 2011 when Colorado officially became associated with this new conference. Over time since its inception over 100 years ago; many changes have come about for all teams involved including expansion into different divisions such as North and South which are divided based upon geographic location rather than individual performance level or ranking standings per se like most other collegiate sports leagues do nowadays. With some exceptions being made here there too mainly due to rivalries between certain programs playing out every year regardless if they’re not geographically close enough nearby neighbors anymore like USC vs UCLA football games played annually down south despite Cal having just moved up north recently..

The Pac 12 is among one of five conferences belonging to FBS Football’s Power Five Conferences alongside Big Ten Conference (B1G) SEC ACC & BIG XII so it holds great respect across college athletics nation wide with no shortage big names coming through yearly either thanks largely part success consistently putting forth highly competitive contenders vying national championships across various sport disciplines ranging basketball baseball track field swimming golf tennis volleyball water polo lacrosse soccer softball etcetera regularly making headlines by winning awards titles honors galore! Additionally numerous Olympic medalists can be traced back having competed NCAA competition prior representing USA abroad during international competitions held around world culminating summertime spectacle known simply Olympics Games themselves…but ultimately though regular season championship trophies remain ultimate goal anyone affiliated program knows well striving capture those elusive banners hang inside stadiums arenas show off proudly amongst peers while pushing forward next generation stars continue tradition excellence set before them decade after decade whether student athletes alumni fans alike everyone wants same thing–VICTORY!
