March Madness NCAA Tournament by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 42 March Madness NCAA Tournament is an annual college basketball tournament held each spring in the United States. It was created in 1939 by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to determine a national champion for men’s Division I college basketball teams. The tournament involves 68 teams from across the country and is divided into four regions: East, West, Midwest, and South. Each region has 16 seeded teams which are ranked according to their regular-season records; these seeds are then pitted against each other in single elimination matchups throughout March until only one team remains standing at the end of April as the overall victor. The term “March Madness” has become synonymous with intense excitement surrounding this competition due to its unpredictable nature; anything can happen once play begins! Games have been decided on buzzer beaters or overtime thrillers that go down to the final seconds of regulation time — it truly makes for must-see television! In addition, many schools offer students tickets to attend games live so they can take part in all of the madness firsthand! Due to its popularity among fans and casual viewers alike, there has been an increase in media coverage over recent years leading up towards Selection Sunday when brackets are revealed and people begin making predictions about who will make it out alive come Final Four weekend — often times going head-to-head against friends or family members with wagers ranging anywhere from office pools filled with cash prizes all way up through million dollar bets placed between celebrities such as Jay Z & Diddy during past tournaments . This type of passion helps contribute significantly towards why March Madness continues being one America’s most beloved sporting events year after year regardless if your school happens be playing or not…Go Team!!!
