Don’t Miss Out: The Clock is Ticking for Oscar Buffs to Binge All the Nominated Films

Elyssa Mann who lives in Oklahoma City loves watching movies. She wants to watch four more movies before Sunday, which is when the Academy Awards ceremony will take place. These movies will be two animation films, one of which is for cinematography and other for costume design.

Steve Tornello, who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area needs to watch just one movie – Avatar – to make sure he has seen all the 10 best pictures nominated.

It would be great if we had an unlimited amount of time to watch any movie we wanted, everywhere. In reality, however, time is limited and this can make it tricky for film fans who are trying to watch every movie that was nominated for awards like the Oscars.

Recently someone tweeted about this issue saying “I still have four Oscar nominated films left to watch in order to complete my list, which seems almost impossible”.

Don’t forget to adjust your clock on Sunday morning! It means you’ll get one hour less of binge watching.

31-year-old marketer Mann said they were relieved with this, saying they need the deadline to motivate them. Now they have no choice but to watch what they missed out on.

She will watch two or three movies every Saturday and use whatever time she has left over on Sunday before the ceremony. Since the start of the year, she’s already seen almost 30 of the nominated films that were announced back in January. She said that unfortunately there isn’t enough time to watch all of them, especially for some categories like Documentary.

It’s impossible to watch all the movies that got nominated for awards, as there are at least 50, and close to 25 different award categories. People in charge of giving out the awards are expected to see every movie, but who has enough time for that?

Tornello is really busy this weekend, but he’s still figuring out how to go to the movies and watch the last movie on his list called “Avatar: The Way of Water”. He knows that he needs to experience it in the theater instead of watching it at home through a streaming service.

Last spring, a person was drawn by the excitement and watched a movie called “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. Just this month, he watched another film called “Women Talking”. This person, named Tornello, said that they try to watch all of the movies they think may be nominated as an Oscar before nominations come out. They do this so they can enjoy the show more. Another person named James Bramble has already seen all of these nominees – and more!

John, an attorney from Salt Lake City, said he’s seen all the movies up for best international film, best documentary, best animated and a few more from the short film categories. He added that he should be done watching them all before Sunday night.

Unlike other years when John didn’t think much of most of the films nominated for awards, this year has been different. He thinks all the films he’s watched were really good!

Mann is trying to hurry.

This weekend, she is watching some movies like “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, “Turning Red”, “Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris” and “Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths”. She admits that she should have started earlier.

She wanted to find a new activity, so she decided to use her love of movies. “I realized it might be a challenge,” she said, “but when winter arrived I decided why not give it a go?”. If you want to watch and learn more about the Oscars visit https://apnews.com/hub/academy-awards.
