Sacramento by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 62 Sacramento is the capital city of the U.S. state of California, and the county seat of Sacramento County. Situated in Northern California at the confluence of two rivers, it is known for its diversity and culture as well as being a major economic hub for Central Valley agriculture and trade within California. With an estimated population in 2019 over 500,000 people (making it the 6th largest city in California), Sacramento has become one of America’s most diverse cities, with many different ethnicities represented throughout its neighborhoods such as Oak Park or Little Saigon on Stockton Blvd., making up around 50% percent Hispanic/Latino residents overall according to last census data from 2010-2019 The City’s cultural heritage dates back centuries before European exploration when early Native American tribes inhabited this region including Nisenan Maidu Indians who were part of present day Sacramento County area since ancient times until they were slowly forced out by settlers during 19th century Gold Rush era that brought thousands seeking fortune to what was then called New Helvetia settlement founded by Swiss Immigrant John Sutter near current downtown district .
