Poland (Polish: Polska), officially the Republic of Poland, is a country located in Central Europe. It is bordered by Germany to the west, Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south, Ukraine and Belarus to the east, and Lithuania and Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia to the north-east. With a population of over 38 million people as of 2017 estimates; it is one of Europe’s most populous countries. Poland has an area totaling 312 679 km2 (120 726 sq mi) making it one of eastern Europe’s largest countries. It also borders seven different nations which makes up its geopolitical location in central Europe at large scale.
