Pennsylvania, commonly referred to as “PA” or the “Keystone State,” is a U.S. state located in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. The Commonwealth has a diverse geography that includes farmland, forests, rolling hills and major metropolitan areas such as Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Allentown. It was one of the original Thirteen Colonies which formed the United States in 1776; it became known for its role during both World Wars I & II due to prominent military bases like Valley Forge National Historical Park (the site of George Washington’s winter encampment). Pennsylvania is also home to Independence Hall where both American Declaration of Independence and Constitution were signed into law by Thomas Jefferson et al., making it an important part of US history
