Ohio State Buckeyes football

The Ohio State Buckeyes football team is the intercollegiate American football program of The Ohio State University, located in Columbus, Ohio. Established in 1890 as a charter member of the Big Ten Conference, the Buckeye’s are one of America’s oldest collegiate sports programs and compete in Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as part of the NCAA. As a proud member of the Big Ten conference they have won eight national championships throughout their history and lead all other schools with an impressive 39 conference titles.

In addition to these accolades, OSU holds several prestigious records including most consecutive wins at 24 (2012-2013), longest winning streak over arch rival Michigan at seven games (2011-2017), highest AP Poll ranking ever achieved by any college football team which was #1 for six weeks during 2017 season , fourth most total number bowl appearances with 54, sixth highest win percentage among all FBS teams ever since 1883 (.724). Notable alumni include Pro Football Hall Of Famers Eddie George, Orlando Pace and Jack Tatum amongst many others who have gone on to great success after leaving OSU .

The current head coach is Ryan Day who has been leading them since 2019 when he took over from Urban Meyer who had held that position from 2012 until 2018. Heading into 2021 season Day has already guided his squad to two Big 10 Championships while also producing Heisman Trophy winners like QB Troy Smith in 2006 or RB JK Dobbins just last year 2020. Under Coach Days leadership there appears no signs that this elite program will slow down anytime soon given their recent accomplishments both on field performance wise but also recruiting some top tier talent annually ranked high nationally by various outlets such as Rivals network or ESPN U .

Led by Quarterback Justin Fields along side running back Master Teague III and wide receivers Garrett Wilson/Chris Olave plus defense stalwarts Zach Harrison/Tuf Borland this years squad looks primed for another special campaign come Fall 2021 returning nearly every starter from previous seasons championship run making it safe bet that yet again expectations remain sky high within Scarlet & Gray nation!
