Michigan Wolverines

The Michigan Wolverines, often referred to simply as the Wolverines or U of M, are the athletic teams that represent the University of Michigan. The school’s sports teams compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are members of Big Ten Conference. With over 900 official wins among its varsity teams, Michigan holds an NCAA record for most overall victories by a college athletics program.

The university is one of only two schools to win at least one national championship in all four major men’s team sports: basketball (1989), ice hockey (1948, 2018), football (1997) and baseball (’53). It also has won numerous individual titles in several other sports including fencing, swimming & diving and track & field events. In addition to being recognized for its impressive performance on-field success off-the-field activities include fundraising efforts for community service initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity; holding leadership conferences; hosting youth clinics; creating camps dedicated to teaching students about STEM related topics; offering academic programs tailored toward student athletes’ career growth post graduation ; providing support services such as counseling and tutoring assistance .
