Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins (born February 23, 1995) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by Cleveland Cavaliers. After one season at Kansas Jayhawks, he declared himself eligible to enter into that year’s NBA Draft. Wiggins became an All-Star in 2018 and won Rookie of The Year honors in 2015 after being traded from Cleveland to Minnesota on August 23rd, 2014.

Early life and high school career

Andrew Christian Wiggins was born on February 23rd, 1995 in Thornhill Ontario Canada to Mitchell and Marita Wiggins who were both former college athletes; his mother played basketball while his father ran track & field events professionally before becoming an assistant coach at Florida State University. At age 9 he moved with his family to Huntington Prep High School located West Virginia where developed as a standout athlete under head coach Rob Fulford during his freshman year earning all state honorable mention accolades averaging 13 points per game 8 rebounds 4 assists 3 blocks 2 steals . During sophomore season ,he averaged 22 points 5 rebounds 4 assist 1 block 1 steal leading team undefeated regular season record 29–0 . His performance earned him selection for 2011 McDonald’s All American Team despite missing part due injury suffered ankle sprain five weeks prior event . On 10 April 2013 ,Wiggins committed play collegiate level at University Kansas over offers programs such as Kentucky North Carolina Ohio State Flordia etc..

College Career
