Golden State WarriorsAndrew WigginsBasketballSacramento KingsSportsSports transactions After 2 Months Out, Warriors’ Wiggins Proves He Hasn’t Missed a Beat As He Scores 17 by Ethan Kim April 16, 2023 written by Ethan Kim April 16, 2023 0 comment Bookmark 58 Andrew Wiggins had a really good game with the Golden State Warriors after being out for over two months. Unfortunately, his chance to win it in the end didn’t pan out and they lost to the Sacramento Kings 126-123 during their first round series on Saturday night. Warriors coach, Kerr, was happy that Andrew was back and said he did great. He also mentioned that the team seemed right with Wiggins playing again. Wiggins had been away from the team for the last 25 games of the season to take care of a private family issue. He rejoined his team a couple weeks ago and played in a game for the first time since February 13th. He made an awesome contribution by playing for 28 minutes off the bench, scoring 17 points, grabbing 3 rebounds and blocking 4 shots – he brought so much energy and excitement! Draymond Green said Wiggins was playing really hard and it is great that he was in the game even though it was his first time after a two and a half month break. He also added that Wiggins helps the team by making defensive stops – but the only issue was his 3-point shot, where he scored only one out of eight attempts, including a missed chance for winning in the last seconds. Despite missing his last shot, Wiggins felt proud of himself. He said with confidence, “That last one felt amazing. I can only get better from here”. The Warriors had shown him support during his time away and they were excited to have him back as a member of the team for the playoffs. Wiggins played an important role in leading his team to success last season with an average of 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds scored per game during the playoffs; he also played well defensively. He made a deal in October that meant he would stay with the Warriors for four years, but he only ended up playing 37 games all year. He was out for three times due to his left foot hurting, then another 10 matches because of an injury in his right leg, seven more games with a sickness that wasn’t related to coronavirus, and finally 25 more due to a family-related problem. On average, he scored 17.1 points per game, 5 rebounds and 2.3 assists when he played during this regular season.
