Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment on Tuesday implicates Trump in four felony offenses associated with his actions leading up to the January 6, 2021, Capitol unrest. The indictment identifies Trump as the only person charged in this case, but also alludes to six co-conspirators, primarily attorneys, who reportedly conspired with Trump. They allegedly involved themselves in a plan to enlist fraudulent electors in seven crucial states won by President Joe Biden to submit invalid certificates to the federal government.
