Paul George, a player on the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, got hurt in the fourth quarter of their game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. This injury could mean bad news for the Clippers’ chances of winning a championship.

George, the star guard, got hurt after getting fouled by Luguentz Dort with four minutes and thirty-eight seconds left in the game. He stayed on the court for several minutes before needing to be helped up. George couldn’t put weight on his right leg when he was supported by staff members on either side and had to go to the locker room.

Luguentz said it was an accident and not done intentionally. He explained that he tried to reach for the rebound from the basket but ended up hitting George’s leg instead.

After the game, no one knew what happened to George immediately. The coach of the Clippers team said they were still checking on him. He was seen leaving the arena in a wheel cart with his right leg stuck out.

Kawhi Leonard, who plays with George on the same team, hadn’t talked to George yet so he didn’t know what had happened. “I thought he just got hit in the face,” Leonard said.

George had 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. If he can’t play anymore, the Clippers’ chance of making it to the playoffs might just be in danger.

Leonard said that if George can’t continue playing, they’ll just have to rely on other players and hope they will still win.

Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points and Jalen Williams added 20 points against their former team (the Thunder).

George did an amazing dunk during the third round of their game and everyone got really excited watching it. In that same half, George and Leonard worked hard and scored a total of 21 points. However, in the end it was not enough for them to win. The coach said after the game that they did not have good luck because they were playing too slowly and weren’t sharing the ball with each other.

The score was tied at 91 when George fell down. Leonard made a point and then, in a row, the Thunder got six more to reach 97-93. Nicolas Batum shot a two pointer to bring the Clippers within one at 101-100, but their coach lost an out of boundaries call with only 30 seconds left. The Thunder missed their next shot and Leonard grabbed the rebound.

At the end of the game, Leonard had the basketball but was surrounded by defenders from the Thunder. He didn’t get a shot off and admitted it was his fault since he should have taken a shot. The teams were tied in points until Gilgeous-Alexander scored 10 points for the Thunder which made them lead 81-80 at the start of the fourth period.

The Clippers started strong, leading by 14 points early on. But the Thunder fought back and tied it soon after. The Thunder have now won five out of their last six games when playing against teams from the Western Conference away from home. In the second period, both Terance Mann and Kawhi Leonard got whistled with technicals – Mann with two and had to leave the game and Leonard for clapping in front of the referee’s face not believing what he heard.

The teams are going to play one more game on Thursday night in Los Angeles. You can find the latest updates about the NBA here: https://bigbignews.net/NBA and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports.
