UFO Congressional Hearing

A senior Pentagon official has lambasted the recent high-profile congressional hearing on Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs), labeling the accusations as “insulting” to those employees tasked with probing into the sightings. He also implicated a significant witness for failing to collaborate with the official governmental inquiry.

Dr. Sean Kirkpatrick, a top Pentagon official, voiced his criticisms through a letter posted on his personal LinkedIn page, which was subsequently circulated widely on social media platforms on Friday. His criticism primarily targeted the testimonies of a retired Air Force intelligence officer, which not only stimulated believers in alien life but also created headlines globally.

Retired Air Force Major David Grusch had argued in his testimony on Wednesday that the U.S. has been concealing what he referred to as a “multi-decade” operation of collecting and deconstructing “Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs)” – the government’s official term for UFOs.

Grusch further alleged that the U.S. has discovered non-human “biologics”, information he claims to have obtained from people closely involved with the program, although he personally had not witnessed such.

A year ago, Kirkpatrick, a veteran intelligence officer, was appointed to head the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), an organization intended to concentrate the investigation efforts into UAPs. Following the push by Congress for better examination of reports involving unusual flying objects as a national security issue, this office was established.

The letter penned by Kirkpatrick, confirmed to be published in a personal capacity by the Defense Department, was strongly worded: “I cannot let yesterday’s hearing pass without expressing how belittling it was to the officers of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community who opted to join AARO, despite the legitimate career-related fears it might involve.”

Kirkpatrick, in a strong defence of his team, stated, “They are truth-seekers, as am I. However, that was not the picture painted at yesterday’s hearing.”

Further refuting the allegations made by Grusch, Pentagon spokeswoman Sue Gough categorically denied any evidence of individuals being harmed or killed due to sharing information about UFOs or the existence of any programs dedicated to the possession or deconstruction of extraterrestrial materials.

Kirkpatrick also reinforced, “AARO has yet to find any credible evidence to back the claims of any program for reverse-engineering non-human technology.”

In his letter, Kirkpatrick stressed the gravity of accusations implying “retaliation, including physical assault and veiled suggestions of murder,” stating that law enforcement was a crucial part of the AARO team, poised to address and act swiftly on such allegations.

However, he lamented that the chief source of these allegations, although not explicitly named as Grusch, has rebuffed the attempts to communicate with AARO. Grusch had previously claimed he was a victim of retaliation and remained silent when asked by a congressman if anyone was murdered to suppress UFO-related information.

Attempts to contact Grusch for comments on Friday through phone or email went unanswered.
