Boebert’s apology came one day after surveillance footage emerged, clearly capturing her vaping while seated in a Denver theater. Prior to this revelation, her campaign had vehemently denied the theater’s claims that she had been vaping during the performance.

In her relatively brief time in Washington, Boebert has gained national recognition for her alignment with the extreme right wing of the GOP and her assertive style, which has frequently garnered media attention. Notably, she heckled President Joe Biden during his 2022 State of the Union address. Currently in her second term representing Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, which primarily covers the western part of the state, Boebert’s actions have repeatedly drawn attention.

The Buell Theater, owned by the city, refrained from naming Boebert in its release of the surveillance footage. However, theater representatives disclosed that during the ejection, both Boebert and her companion made statements along the lines of “do you know who I am” and “I will be contacting the mayor.” Initially refusing to leave the venue, they only departed once the threat of police intervention was imminent.
