This means that the final recordings from five years before his death will now be released. Vicky Cornell had taken the band to court claiming they owed her some money from a project that Chris recorded which she said he intended to be by himself, but the band argued it was part of their agreement with him. Soundgarden and Vicky Cornell, who is the Estate of Chris Cornell’s representative, have settled their disagreement peacefully without involving a judge or court. This means that Soundgarden can now release music that was worked on together by them and Chris Cornell so their fans all around the world can listen to it. The details of the agreement haven’t been revealed to the public and no paperwork showing that a deal had been made was given to the court. We have tried to get more information, but Soundgarden’s lawyers didn’t answer. Before his death in 2017, Chris Cornell made 7 recordings from his home studio in Miami Beach. According to a lawsuit, three members of Soundgarden – Kim Thayil (the guitarist), Matt Cameron (the drummer) and Ben Shepherd (the bassist) – are not giving hundreds of thousands of dollars of royalties to Chris’ family which includes his wife Vicky and their two kids. In 2021, Cornell’s family sued a doctor because they believed that the doctor had given him drugs before he died by suicide. Soundgarden was an American rock band, who started in 1984. After they became famous as part of the “grunge music” trend from late ’80s to early ’90s, their songs like “Black Hole Sun”, “Jesus Christ Pose”, “Outshined” and “Spoonman” were widely recognized. Besides Soundgarden, Cornell also joined other bands like Audioslave and Temple of the Dog. The people who are involved with this situation are joining forces together to celebrate the famous music of Soundgarden and give honor to Chris for being a very talented singer and composer. They want to remember his great contributions that he has made in music history.
