He believes that one popular chatbot has a liberal bias and he plans to make his own AI creation to counteract it. Elon Musk told TV host Tucker Carlson that he is planning to make an AI, called “TruthGPT,” which wants to understand the universe and will help stop it from being destroyed. He thinks ChatGPT (another AI) is getting taught wrong things such as being politically correct. In a recent interview, Elon Musk stated he’s a “big fan” of regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI). He even went so far as to say AI is much more dangerous than cars or rockets as it has the ability to potentially cause massive damage to humanity. Elon Musk has made a new company called X.AI Corp this March 9, according to a Nevada business filing. The Nevada Secretary of State’s website confirms that he is listed as its director and Jared Birchall is registered as the secretary. For a long time, Elon Musk has been very vocal in his views on artificial intelligence. He has criticized Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates because he believes that they don’t fully understand the topic of AI. Musk invested in OpenAI, a company that created ChatGPT, and was the co-chair of its board when it launched as a non-profit research lab in 2015. However, he quit his position in early 2018 because Tesla was getting more involved in making automated cars. Because of this, OpenAI said it could have caused problems for Musk down the line so it was better for him to leave. Musk explained why the organization he created, OpenAI, is now partnered with Microsoft and no longer a non-profit. He left in 2019 due to his focus on Tesla engineering projects and different ideas between him and the OpenAI leaders. Musk mentioned that it was best to part ways amicably. Elon Musk tweeted that he did not agree with some of the things that OpenAI, a competitor of Tesla, wanted to do. At the same time, there have been some questions about the quality of Tesla’s artificial intelligence (AI) systems. Recently, an investigation was opened in the US looking into a car crash in California where it looked like a Tesla car with AI had crashed into a parked fire truck. The agency is doing a big investigation about cars from Tesla with the Autopilot system crashing into police and fire trucks that are already dealing with other accidents. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been very careful when it comes to safety issues related to Teslas in the last year, checking them carefully and even issuing different recalls. In the year after Elon Musk quit from OpenAI’s Board, OpenAI published its first version of GPT and changed to a business that makes money. In 2020, Musk tweeted about opening up OpenAI and mentioned he had no power over it and very little information about it. At the beginning, Elon Musk praised OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT. He was frustrated that not many people were talking about this technology because it wasn’t a ‘left-wing cause’. Since then, he has been suggesting that the chatbot is biased towards left-wing opinions or censors certain opinions. This can be seen through filters programmed into ChatGPT which stops it from expressing any offensive thoughts.
