Zurich

Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland and the capital of the canton of Zurich. It is located in north-central Switzerland at the northwestern tip of Lake Zurich. The municipality has approximately 400,000 inhabitants, and it covers an area of 87 km2 (34 sq mi), making it one of most densely populated areas in Europe.

The city was founded by a settlement on Limmat River’s right bank around AD 500 that later became known as Turicum.
