This Tuesday, a truly impressive Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton is being put up for auction in Bern, Switzerland. It’s being sold as an ornament or showpiece for anyone who can afford it; the skeleton was found from three different sites across the United States. Don’t miss out on this unique chance!

The bones of a mighty T-Rex have been put together to create a roaring 11.6 meter long, 3.9 meter high figure and it is set to be auctioned off at a Zurich auction house for between 5 million and 8 million Swiss francs, which is around $5.6 -$8.9 million dollars! The T-Rex, called “Trinity”, was recovered from different sites in Montana and Wyoming with specimens taken from 2008 – 2013.

More than half of the fossil that was found is made up of real bone pieces and the auction house said it is really special because it was also kept in great condition.

Nils Knoetschke, a scientific advisor, said that dinosaur skulls are usually lost when they die in the Jurassic or Cretaceous Periods. But he was happy to announce that some original Tyrannosaurus skull bones were found that all belonged to one particular specimen!

T. rex was a giant that lived on Earth around 65 and 67 million years ago. Its popularity has been boosted by films like “Jurassic Park”.

Two other dinosaur skeletons have been sold recently in the same areas – one called ‘Sue’ made $8.4 million over 25 years, while ‘Stan’ made nearly $32 million three years ago.

Tuesday’s auction will have a special item: a skeleton of the famous T. Rex dinosaur! It’s only the third ever time that this kind of skeleton is being sold at auction.
