Vermont is a state located in the northeastern United States. It borders New York to the west, Massachusetts to the south, and New Hampshire and Quebec (Canada) to the east and north respectively. Vermont was one of the original thirteen colonies that declared independence from Great Britain on July 4th 1776, becoming an independent republic before ultimately joining The Union as part of The Constitution in 1791.

The geography of Vermont consists mainly of mountains with lush forestland stretching throughout most parts of its terrain; this has earned it nicknames such as “The Green Mountain State” or “Nature’s Playground”. Due to its location close proximity to both Atlantic Ocean coastline climates and Canadian continental climate types, weather conditions can be highly variable depending upon what region you are visiting at any given time.

Vermont’s economy is largely based around agriculture production, particularly dairy farming which brings in over $2 billion annually for farmers who produce about 85% percent of all milk consumed within Northern America according some estimates1 .
