UCLA Bruins

The UCLA Bruins (sometimes stylized as UCLABruins) are the athletic teams representing the University of California, Los Angeles. The Bruin’s name comes from a combination of their official colors – True Blue and Gold – which also happens to be that of the state flag’s color scheme.

UCLA has won 118 NCAA team championships, including 119 for men’s sports and 99 for women’s sports in total. This is more than any other university as well as making them one of only six universities with 100 or more national titles across all sports programs. Additionally they have had 25 consecutive Top 10 finishes in the Directors’ Cup Standings since 1995–1996 school year which honors overall collegiate athletics success through combined performance in various NCAA championship events throughout each academic year.
In 2018-2019 alone, twelve out of 26 varsity teams achieved top ten rankings: baseball (#7), beach volleyball (#1), cross country (#5 & #10 M/W ), gymnastics(#3 W), golf (M#9 ,W #8 ), rowing (M&W #6 ), soccer( M#2 , W# 2 ) softball(#4) swimming & diving( M&W #4 ), tennis mens singles (#14) track & field M&W both ranked 8th . Women’s water polo was runner up at Nationals while men’s finished fourth place but held onto its number 1 ranking nationally most weeks during season play..

The football program experienced some difficulties over recent years but saw an improvement under head coach Chip Kelly who took over prior to 2018 season; it managed 18 wins between 2017-2018 seasons which included winning several bowl games like Cactus Bowl against Kansas State Wildcats 35 – 17 on December 26 2019 with Dorian Thompson Robinson setting new passing record passing 4 TD passes on his way to MVP award . With such successes UCLA boasts being home to a wide range NFL players past present such Myles Jack DeShone Kizer Raymond Calilao etc…

Outside professional leagues many current athletes move onto Olympic Games Commonwealth Games World Championships Pan American Games Asian Games European Championships etc.. In 2016 Rio Olympics 80 alumni represented 22 countries taking part earning 30 medals 13 gold 7 silver 10 bronze .. It goes without saying this makes them proud member PAC 12 conference consisting Arizona State Stanford USC Washington Oregon Colorado Utah Arizona among others competing college level athletics basketball football Baseball Beach Volleyball Cross Country Equestrian Golf Gymnastics Lacrosse Soccer Softball Swimming Diving Tennis Track Field Water Polo Wrestling Rowing Cheerleading Dance Team
