Rome by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 76 Rome is the capital of Italy. Located in central western Italy, it has a population of over 2.8 million people within its administrative limits as of 2018 and is the fourth-most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. Rome’s metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of 4 million residents making it one of the most populous cities in Europe and also serves as an important cultural center for Western Europe with numerous monuments, churches, museums and galleries that dot its ancient streetscape. The history of Rome dates back thousands years ago when it was founded on 21 April 753 BC by two twin brothers Romulus and Remus who were raised by a she-wolf according to Roman mythology – both subsequently becoming joint first kings after they killed each other during their quarrels about where to build Rome’s foundation walls.. The archaeological remains from this period are some evidence suggesting settlements had already existed since 1000BCE prior to these legendary founding twins which archaeologists believe belonged primarily to pastoralists living outside town boundaries . As time passed along with continuous growth , many cultures like Etruscans Greeks Latins etc., shaped up what we know today as Ancient Rome . It became an empire spanning around 3 continents from Africa , Asia & Europe at peak times under Emperor Octavian Augustus ( 63 BCE – 14 CE ) After falling out due power struggles , civil wars & foreign invasions between 5th–15th century AD followed by Italian unification process in 19th centuries resulted into formation modern day Republic Of Italy & current version City Of Roma having Vatican City State inside its jurisdiction ; thus preserving its legacy while embracing new era filled with developments made possible through generations lived there before us .. One cannot discuss or talk about roman culture without mentioning art architecture science government education literature philosophy engineering medicine military expansion just few among everything else Romans achieved contributed leaving behind great examples still admired studied today whole world … Finally tourism plays major role bringing life Capital From Palatine Hill Colosseum Pantheon Trevi Fountain Spanish Steps Villa Borghese Park Seven Hills Piazza Navona St Peter’ Basilica Sistine Chapel Castel Sant’ Angelo Trastevere Quirinal Hill Janiculum Arch Of Constantine Baroque Churches all way till Catacombs Via Appia Antica Archaeological Sites Museums Tourist Attractions every corner gives another reason Visit Here giving millions visitors opportunity explore discover beauty loyalty citizens have towards eternal city ….
