Pedro Pascal by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 64 Pedro Pascal (born April 2, 1975) is a Chilean-American actor. He is best known for his roles as Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of HBO’s fantasy drama series Game of Thrones and Javier Peña in Netflix’s crime drama Narcos. Pascal was born on April 2, 1975 in Santiago, Chile to parents Mario Aránzazu and Josefina Contreras Vásquez de Aránzazu who were both active members of Augusto Pinochet’s political party during the military dictatorship that ruled Chile from 1973–1990. His family fled to California shortly after he was born due to the regime change, eventually settling down in San Antonio where he later moved with them permanently at age 5. He began acting at an early age when he joined a theater group called Teatro de la Esperanza which performed throughout Texas before moving out west for college tuition money. After graduating from Orange County High School of the Arts Conservatory program and attending New York University’s Tisch School Of The Arts Graduate Acting Program, Pascal made his television debut on JAG while still living abroad pursuing other interests such as graphic design before returning stateside whereupon landing several prominent guest starring roles along with recurring parts like Jonathan Harker/Zoltan Drago on Buffy The Vampire Slayer all within 3 years time since 2000 then making appearances across networks like ABC Family & Fox until quite recently distinguishing himself with lead portrayals including portraying Uday Hussein opposite Josh Hartnett In Hulu’s 2011 miniseries Baghdad Central alongside fellow Game Of Throne alumni Iain Glen among others; This performance earned him nominations from SATELLITE Awards & Critics Choice Television Award For Best Actor In A Movie Or Miniseries respectively whereas 2016 saw Pedro gain worldwide recognition playing Prince Oberyn Martell On GoT earning multiple award nominations including Primetime Emmy Outstanding Supporting Actor nomination though tragically meeting grisly end by Season 4 finale despite acclaiming viewership ratings records thus far whilst also appearing as DEA agent Javier Peña over 3 seasons between 2015 – 2017 further cementing status one most sought after actors industry today .
