New York Mets

The New York Mets are a Major League Baseball (MLB) team based in the New York metropolitan area. The Mets compete in MLB as a member club of the National League East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the American League’s (AL) New York Yankees. One of baseball’s first expansion teams, the Mets were founded in 1962 to replace New York’s departed NL teams:the Brooklyn Dodgers andNewYork Giants. During their history they have won two World Series titles and five National League pennants; four division titles; six Wild Card berths; and appearedin three interleague championship series.

The Mets’ colors are composedof blue (used for letteringand trim), orange(for piping on home uniforms only), white(home uniform base color) and black (not used since moving away from an all-black alternate jersey). Their mascot is Mr. Met, who debuted with them when they moved into Shea Stadium in 1964and has been featured at every game ever since then except during periods where he was replaced by Mrs Met or even a baby version known as Little Mister Mettoday he is always seen wearing his signature NY cap while attending gamesat Citi Field which opened on April 13th 2009 replacing Shea Stadiumas well as any promotional events both within NYC & outside it..
