New York Knicks

The New York Knicks are a professional basketball team based in the borough of Manhattan, New York City. They compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The team plays its home games at Madison Square Garden, an arena they share with their fellow NBA franchise, although they have also occasionally played some regular season and pre-season games at other venues such as Nassau Coliseum on Long Island and Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Founded by Ned Irish in 1946, it is one of only two teams to predate the founding of the NBA itself; both were part of what was then known as BAA (Basketball Association Of America). It has won two championships since joining that league: firstly 1948–49 and secondly 1970–71 under legendary coach Red Holzman. Over this time period there have been several high profile players that wore orange and blue including Walt Frazier, Willis Reed, Patrick Ewing & Carmelo Anthony who all had their jersey numbers retired by MSG Network after leaving or retiring from playing for The Knicks organization respectively .
