MLB by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 102 Major League Baseball (MLB) is the oldest professional sports league in North America and consists of 30 teams across the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1869, making it one of the longest running major leagues around today. The MLB season typically begins at the end of March with Spring Training camps opening up all over Florida and Arizona before exhibition games start in April. The regular season runs from April to September during which each team plays 162 games against their divisional opponents as well as interleague rivals within either their own or a neighboring division. At its conclusion, 10 teams advance to playoffs that consist of three rounds: Wild Card Round, Division Series round, Championship Series round followed by ending with World Series between two finalist teams for championship title – an event widely known throughout US sporting culture since 1903 when Boston Americans became first winners under new American League name after National Association had been dissolved couple years before due to lack financial success among baseball clubs who were part owners then. In order for players to be eligible for playing Major Leagues they must go through Rookie Drafts held annually where top prospects are selected based on scouting reports made by talent evaluators employed by respective franchises; these drafts usually take place sometime during June while most free agents are available on market following November’s General Manager Meetings when trading period ends officially along other transactions such as waiver claims etcetera being closed also until next year’s preseason practices begin again later winter months depending upon schedule set forth earlier July time-frame every summer – a process repeated yearly without fail ever since establishment itself nearly 150 years ago now!
