Miami Hurricanes

The Miami Hurricanes (also known as “the U”) are the varsity sports teams of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The school’s athletic program is a member of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Miami has won 28 national championships, including five football titles since 1983, seven baseball titles since 1982 and six men’s basketball championships since 2000. Its most recent championship came when it defeated Virginia 5-4 to win its third College World Series title in 1999. As such, they are one of only four universities to have ever won at least three NCAA championships in each sport—football, men’s basketball and baseball—which makes them one of college athletics’ elite programs. The university also boasts over 40 Olympians who have represented their countries during various Olympic games throughout history; many Hurricane athletes have gone on to become professional athletes across all major leagues around the world..

In addition to success on field or court – where numerous All Americans among dozens more ACC individual awards winners can be found — UM enjoys strong support from fans both near campus and worldwide via social media outlets like Twitter (@CanesAllAccess), Facebook (/UMiamiAthletics)and Instagram(@canesallaccess). Since 2006, hundreds thousands attend home sporting events annually at Sun Life Stadium which opened that year after two decades playing at former venue Orange Bowl Stadium – now demolished– with capacity for nearly 75000 spectators per game day featuring tailgating opportunities prior kickoff/tipoff times along with postgame festivities held nearby Hard Rock stadium following select contests . This fan base encompasses not just South Floridians but members ‘Cane Nation everywhere often referred by popular hashtag #ItsALLAboutTheU
