Mario Barrett

Mario Barrett (born August 27, 1986) is an American singer-songwriter and actor from Baltimore, Maryland. He began his music career as a part of the R&B boy band IMx in 1999 but left to pursue a solo career in 2003; he released his debut album Mario that same year. His second studio album Go was released in 2007 and included the hit single “How Do I Breathe”. In 2009, he starred opposite Idris Elba in Takers which grossed over $60 million at the box office worldwide.

In 2011, Barrett signed with Cash Money Records and subsequently changed his stage name to Rico Love releasing two EPs titled The Return Of Love EP Part 1 & 2 throughout 2012-13 respectively under this moniker before returning back to using his birthname for future releases. He has since gone on to release several albums including Dancer Drinker Thinker (2015) and Paradise Cove (2017). Throughout his musical career Mario has collaborated with many artists such as Usher (“Climax”), Chris Brown (“Speedin'”) Sean Paul (“Just A Friend 2002”), Flo Rida (“Be On You”), Ludacris(“Break Up”), Jennifer Hudson(“Spotlight” Remix), Pitbull(“Rain Over Me”) among others.

Besides pursuing music professionally, Barrett is also involved philanthropically hosting charitable events like ‘A Night To Remember’ gala – held annually by him along with other celebrities raising funds for cancer awareness programs or helping out causes related poverty alleviation etc.. Additionally he’s been actively promoting youth education through organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs of America since 2013 when partnering up with them during their nationwide Tour De Club campaign aiming at giving kids access quality resources across all states within US .
