Long Beach

Long Beach is a major city in Southern California, located on the Pacific coast of Los Angeles County. With an estimated population of 477,160 as of 2019, it is the 7th most populous city in California and the 36th most populous city in the United States. Long Beach covers an area of 51 square miles (132 km2) and lies between San Diego Bay to its south and Orange County to its north. It has deep roots as part of Los Angeles metropolitan area’s sprawling suburbs stretching from Santa Monica down past Anaheim.

The Port Of Long Beach is one of America’s largest seaports; handling over $140 billion worth imported goods annually making it one of busiest container ports in North America – second only behind nearby Port Of Los Angeles which handles 40% more imports than Long beach does each year . The port district also includes the neighboring cities Signal Hill , Hawaiian Gardens , Lakewood , Cerritos & Seal Beach . In addition to being a major shipping hub for cargo ships arriving from Asia-Pacific regions ,the port also serves as homeport for many cruise ships sailing out into Mexico & Hawaii .

In terms or business development – Aerospace giant Boeing had opened up their manufacturing plant back in 1941 while Auto manufacturer Honda recently announced plans to move their headquarters here by 2021 ; both companies are expected to bring thousands jobs within next few years bringing additional economic boost along with them !

Education wise ,it houses two state universities : Cal State University Long Beach commonly referred CSULB plus private university called Loyola Marymount University College along with several community colleges providing higher education opportunities across region ! Also there are numerous public elementary/middle schools serving diverse student populations through various well funded school districts like ABC Unified School District that provides quality academic programs throughout entire county . Arts scene has been strong since late 90’s when Museum Of Latin American Art was established followed by other notable galleries such Aquarium Of The Pacific(2002) showcasing some amazing marine life species coming off waters around world!
