John King

John King (born August 30, 1963) is an American journalist and news anchor. He currently serves as host of CNN’s Inside Politics, a Sunday morning political talk program that focuses on the issues at the center of Washington politics. Prior to his current role with CNN, King was also Chief National Correspondent for the network from 2005–2011 and served in various reporting roles throughout his tenure there.

King began his career in journalism while attending Boston University where he earned both bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Political Science before going on to receive a Master’s degree from BU’s College of Communication. After graduation King worked as an editor for The Associated Press located out of their bureau in Massachusetts before becoming State House Bureau Chief for AP New England based out its headquarters in Boston.

In 1997 John joined CNN where he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of their most recognizable personalities due to frequent appearances on programs like Anderson Cooper 360°, Larry King Live, Wolf Blitzer Reports and Lou Dobbs Tonight among others over the years prior joining Inside Politics full time 2012 following longtime host Judy Woodruff stepping down after more than 10 years anchoring show . In addition hosting duties at IPC ,King has had significant presence during Presidential election cycles having moderated several debates including ones held between 2008 & 2020 Democratic presidential candidates Barack Obama And Hillary Clinton respectively .
