Jake Gyllenhaal

Jake Gyllenhaal (born December 19, 1980) is an American actor and producer. He began acting as a child with roles in City Slickers (1991), A Dangerous Woman (1993) and October Sky (1999). After appearing in the romantic comedy film Donnie Darko (2001), his breakthrough role came when he starred opposite Heath Ledger in Ang Lee’s drama Brokeback Mountain (2005).

Gyllenhaal achieved further success with critically acclaimed performances in Zodiac(2007), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time(2010), Love & Other Drugs(2010), End of Watch(2012) and Nightcrawler(2014). For his performance as Lou Bloomin Nightcrawler, for which he gained over 30 pounds,he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Dramaand won several awards including two Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.In 2015, he played a fugitive on the run alongside Michael Shannonin Nocturnal Animalsfor which Gyllenhaal received dual nominations at both the Academy Awardsand BAFTA Awards.
