Guy Ritchie

Guy Ritchie (born 10 September 1968) is an English film director, producer, screenwriter and businessman best known for his crime films. He achieved wide acclaim in 1998 for directing the British gangster film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Since then he has become well-known for his signature style of fast-paced, explosive action sequences mixed with irreverent humour which was also featured in subsequent films such as Snatch (2000), Swept Away (2002) and Revolver (2005).

Ritchie’s other works include Sherlock Holmes (2009), its sequel A Game of Shadows(2011) RocknRolla (2008 ), The Man from U.N.C.L.E.(2015 ) , King Arthur: Legend of the Sword(2017 )and Aladdin(2019 ). In 2020 he directed a television series called The Gentlemen based on his own original screenplay .

Early life and career beginnings

Guy Ritchie was born on 10 September 1968 to Amber Parker Bowles nee Shand & John Vivian Drummond ‘Jah’ Ritchie at Queen Charlotte Hospital West London where her father worked as volunteer barman while studying law at Polytechnic Centre Regent Street University College London now part of University Westminster . His grandfather Major Stewart Hunter Grant served during World War II before becoming Lord Lieutenant Aberdeenshire Scotland until 1974 when retired after 20 years service .
