Earnings is a term used to describe the total amount of money that an individual or organization receives from their activities during a specific period. This includes all forms of income, such as wages, salaries, dividends and other investments. Earnings are typically reported on tax returns and financial statements.

Individuals calculate earnings by adding up all the sources of income they receive over a given period (commonly referred to as gross income).
