Chicago Cubs by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 58 The Chicago Cubs are an American professional baseball team based in Chicago, Illinois. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League Central division. The franchise was founded in 1876 and has been playing professionally since then, making them one of the oldest teams still playing in North America today. Throughout their history they have achieved great success, winning 16 NL pennants and two World Series Championships—in 1907 and 2016 respectively. The team plays its home games at Wrigley Field which is located on the city’s north side lake front area known as Lakeview Township; it is also referred to as “the Friendly Confines” due to its proximity with fans and neighborhood residents alike creating an energetic atmosphere during game days. This ballpark holds several historic records including having hosted more night games than any other stadium ever since lights were installed for major league play back in 1988—as well as being among three MLB ballparks that do not currently possess a corporate sponsored name. Additionally, Wrigley Field houses numerous statues outside depicting legendary Cubs players such as Ernie Banks or Fergie Jenkins scattered around what can be seen from many angles all over the park adding to its charm even further when looking out into center field from inside during a match up between both sides fighting it out over nine innings hoping either for victory or redemption depending on how things turn out by sundown here at this iconic venue steeped with so much lore throughout every season no matter if summertime means watching baseball under clear blue skies full of hope just like generations before had done too but only different now given these times we live within yet no less intense each time October comes around again knowing anything could happen come playoff series after 162 regular matches played above sea level upon hallowed ground where heroes become legends through feats often never forgotten amongst true believers who keep faith alive year after year while those who dare try stand against them must know what awaits ahead should they find themselves walking away empty-handed once more left wondering why? As far behind us lies last century’s “curse” broken finally by champions crowned kings forever atop mountains formed due solely towards greatness built brick by brick carved stone by stoned proving beyond doubt miracles do indeed exist because long ago 108 years spanning countless lifetimes passed waiting patiently biding time until eventually dreams came true heard echoing loud ringing bells across Windy City streets late nights celebrating joyous victories completing epic journeys along roadways traveled faithfully unwavering leading faithful followers straight toward promised lands awaiting everyone believing most certainly nothing shall remain same ever again …..not anymore!
