Cedric the Entertainer

Cedric the Entertainer (born April 24, 1964) is an American actor, comedian and game show host. He is best known for his roles in films such as Barbershop (2002), Be Cool (2005), Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (2012) and The Soul Man on TV Land. He has also hosted a number of popular television shows including Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, It’s Worth What? and Cedric the Entertainer Presents.

Born Cedric Antonio Kyles in Jefferson City, Missouri to Rosetta Kyles née Nelsom, he began performing stand-up comedy while attending Berkeley High School in St Louis County before moving to Los Angeles after graduating high school. In 1992 he was crowned grand champion at HBO’s Annual Comedy Competition which helped him launch his career in entertainment soon joining Steve Harvey’s Kings of Comedy tour alongside DL Hughley and Bernie Mac among others throughout 1998–2000 bringing their brand of Urban Stand Up across America becoming one of the most successful tours from any genre that year selling out venues nationwide..

In 2000 Cedric made his big screen debut starring opposite Ice Cube & Eve in New Line Cinema’s Barbershop gaining critical acclaim for both it & its 2004 sequel Barbershop 2: Back In Business with co-stars Queen Latifah & Troy Garity . Later film credits include Johnson Family Vacation(2004), Intolerable Cruelty(2003),Be Cool(2005) along with multiple sequels like Madagasar Escape 2 Africa where he reprised his role as Maurice ,Madagascar 3 :Europe`s Most Wanted.,The Honeymooners(2005). A Year At The Top((2007))& Think Like A Man Film Series 2012/2014 earning several awards nominations over this span including Black Reel Awards nomination 2013 Best Ensemble Cast For His Role As Dominic In Think Like A Man Too…..as well hosting various programs like Showtime At The Apollo On Fox Network 1999 – 2003 succeeding former Host Sinbad..He went onto serve as executive producer on many projects developing content through production companies Bobcat Productions LLC And Electric Company Pictures LLC {ECP}…in 2018 ECP launched new series “Soul OfA city” Where Cedar Serves As Executive Producer Alongside Monique Idlett Mosley….and continues creating more opportunities within Hollywood dealing With African Americans To This Day……
