The capital city Ottawa is situated on both sides of two major water bodies – The Ottawa River and Rideau Canal which serves as part national highway system connecting its cities together with bridges over these waterways . The official languages are English & French throughout all areas except Nunavut where Inuktitut is also spoken . In terms of geography , there are four main regions: British Columbia in West Coast; Prairies including Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba ; Ontario & Quebec , covering Central Canada ;and Maritimes consisting Nova Scotia , New Brunswick & Prince Edward Island . Each region have their own unique characteristics from climate to culture contributing to Canadian diversity today . Politically speaking , Canada operates under Westminster parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy same like United Kingdom but Queen Elizabeth II represent them internationally instead being head-of-state herself since 1982 when Constitution Act came into effect through patriation process removing ties with UK parliament at London Palace thereby officially becoming an independent nation after centuries long colonial rule by Britain during 19th century onwards eventually culminating towards Dominion status granted upon creation via Confederation agreement between province’s representatives back 1867 creating strong federal structure while preserving provincial autonomy too that still stands true until date even though few amendments done later down line within past 150 years or so till now ! Economically speaking, due to balanced approach taken up by successive governments successfully integrating social programs along side free market economy adopting global trading policies allowed fast growth rate for this resource rich land mass resulting higher incomes compared rest counterparts around globe ranking highly amongst top 10 richest countries globally having gross domestic product worth $1.7 trillion usd annually according OECD reports published recently thus attracting large number immigrants seeking better quality life here every year! Overall conclusion can be drawn that despite some challenges faced meanwhile such high taxation rates not many other nations out there exist offering similar standard living conditions plus human rights protection policy implemented widely across board providing equal opportunity citizens regardless gender/race helping everyone feel proud about their homeland called CANADA !! 506
