California state government

California state government is the governmental structure of California as established by the Constitution of California. The state government consists of three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. These consist of various agencies, departments, boards, commissions and bureaus that work together to ensure the citizens are represented in a fair manner while promoting public safety and welfare within the Golden State.

Executive branch
The executive branch is headed by Governor Gavin Newsom who serves a four-year term with unlimited reelections under Article 5 Section 8(b)of the Californian Constitution. He’s responsible for signing bills into law or vetoing them before they can become laws; he also appoints all members to certain cabinet positions such as Secretary Of State And Attorney General along with other roles like Supreme Court justices & Judges for inferior courts throughout California’s 58 counties . In addition to his role at head of Executive Branch ,the governor has responsibility over multiple departmental heads including Health Services (CalHSA), Education (CDOE), Transportation (Caltrans). Other important offices include Natural Resources Agency which oversees water rights & management issues related to air quality & environment protection programs; Labor Commission enforces minimum wage standards across CA ; Office Of Emergency services coordinates responses during natural disasters/emergencies . Finally there’s Franchise Tax Board tasked with collecting income taxes from individuals businesses alike operating within jurisdiction borders

Legislative branch
The Legislature comprises two houses: Assembly—whose 80 representatives have 2 year terms —and Senate– made up 40 senators serving 4 year terms each all elected by popular vote every even numbered years respectively under Article IV section 1a-1vii provisions set forth in constitution .. Members convene annually on January 6th Sacramento whereupon both houses come together pass new bills determine how money should be allocated among different sectors whether it be increased funding education health care etc.. Ultimately their job create legislation better society promote social economic justice fairness prosperity people living here –all while abiding constitutional limitations remain faithful duties entrusted upon them via constituents residing their respective districts statewide

Judicial power lies hands Supreme Court composed 7 Justices appointed Governor approved confirmation votes legislature then serve 12year terms Chief Justice presiding officer court decisions must adhere rulings favor precedent defend liberty equality rights granted through US Federal Constitutions Articles Amendments therein additionally options available parties appeal decision lower appellate divisions Superior Courts Municipal Courts Deputy Commissioners handle limited scope cases arbitrations mediations involving civil matters small claims actions probate conservatorships guardianship proceedings All total 400 judges preside over these tribunals located county seat cities around ca order resolve disputes times conflict arise between private entities often time non profit organizations corporations seeking legal recourse when contractual obligations aren’t fulfilled
