The Buffalo Bills are a professional American football team based in the Buffalo–Niagara Falls metropolitan area. The Bills compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at New Era Field in Orchard Park, New York.

The franchise was founded and established by Ralph Wilson Jr., who owned the team until his death in 2014 at age 95. After being owned for 59 years by Wilson, Russell Brandon took over ownership from March 2015 to August 2018 when Terry Pegula purchased controlling interest of the franchise through his wife Kim Pegula on October 8th, 2018 for an estimated 1 billion dollars making them one of 30 NFL teams with female majority ownership.
