Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are a professional basketball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The team competes in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference Southeast Division and plays their home games at State Farm Arena. They were formed in 1946 as one of the charter members of the NBA’s predecessor league, the National Basketball League (NBL).

Their history has been marked by many highs and lows; they won two championships while part of both leagues but have not made it to an NBA Finals since 1961. Over time, they have changed cities numerous times—from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to St. Louis, Missouri before relocating to Atlanta for good during 1968–1969 season where their home court was originally called Alexander Memorial Coliseum until 2017 when it was renamed State Farm Arena after its most recent renovation work concluded.
