She stood accused of various methods of deliberate harm to the infants, including the injection of air into their circulatory systems and the administration of air or milk through nasogastric tubes into their stomachs.

Moreover, Letby faced allegations of poisoning the babies by adding insulin to their intravenous feeds and tampering with their breathing apparatuses.

Judge James Goss levied an uncommon “whole-life order” against Letby, stating that she exhibited “malevolence approaching sadism.”

She joins a very select group, as only three other women in the United Kingdom have ever received such a severe sentence.
