On Saturday, multiple British soldiers succumbed to the heat while dressed in woolen tunics and bearskin hats, honoring Prince William with their salute.

A minimum of three guardsmen collapsed during the military spectacle referred to as the Colonel’s Review. This parade, during which Prince William – the honorary Colonel of the Welsh Guards – reviews over 1,400 soldiers from the Household Division and the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, was held under scorching temperatures that were expected to reach 30 C (86 F) in London.

Following the event, Prince William expressed his appreciation on Twitter: “A huge thanks to each soldier who participated in the Colonel’s Review this morning in the intense heat. Despite the challenging conditions, all of you performed commendably.”

This occasion served as a preparation for the annual Trooping the Colour, a military parade held every June to commemorate the sovereign’s official birthday. This year, King Charles III will preside over the ceremony on June 17.
