California plane crash

In the early hours of Saturday, a small plane tragically crashed and ignited, taking the lives of all six people on board. The devastating event unfolded in a field close to a Southern California airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed that the incident, involving a Cessna C550 business jet, occurred around 4:15 a.m. in Murrieta, a city situated roughly 80 miles southeast of Los Angeles.

Riverside County Fire Department reported it took firefighters over an hour to douse the fire, which had completely consumed the plane and caused significant damage to roughly an acre of surrounding vegetation, situated just north of French Valley Airport.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, in a statement, confirmed that all six people on board had lost their lives at the crash site. The identification of the victims is still pending.

The FAA also noted that the plane had initiated its journey from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.

The crash investigation will be jointly conducted by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.

On July Fourth, a single-engine Cessna 172 crashed into a parking lot shortly after takeoff from French Valley, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to three others.

FAA and NTSB investigations take time, folks. They’re thorough and exhaustive. Let’s wait for their findings before drawing conclusions.

Very sad news, indeed. Investigation must cover all aspects: from maintenance of the aircraft to pilot’s health condition.
