Thousands of Palestinians sheltering in Gaza City’s main hospital fled south due to reported strikes in and around the compound, contributing to the growing exodus from intense urban fighting in the north. Gaza officials reported a death toll surpassing 11,000.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza has grown dire, with over 100,000 Palestinians fleeing south in the past two days, facing bombardment and difficult conditions. Hospitals are overwhelmed with wounded patients and lack essential supplies, making it challenging to provide adequate medical care.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed concern about the use of civilians as “human shields” but emphasized the need to protect civilians and medical facilities. The international community is closely monitoring the situation and calling for a ceasefire and humanitarian assistance to the affected population.
