Officials have reported that a plane crashed into a field in California, resulting in the tragic deaths of six individuals. Following the crash, the aircraft immediately caught fire, engulfing approximately one acre of surrounding vegetation. This incident occurred near an airport situated in the city of Murrieta, which lies in southwest Riverside County, between Los Angeles and San Diego.

According to KTLA, the flight had originally taken off from the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas before it crashed into the field. The aircraft involved was a Cessna C550 business jet, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration.

In the early hours of the morning, around 4:15 a.m., authorities discovered the burning plane and pronounced all six occupants deceased at the scene, as stated by the Riverside County Fire Department. The identities of the crash victims have not yet been disclosed.

Both the National Transportation Safety Board and the FAA have initiated investigations into the crash.

This unfortunate incident represents the second fatal crash near the French Valley Airport in Riverside County within a short period. Only a few days prior, on Tuesday, another crash occurred when a plane collided with a building adjacent to the airport, resulting in the death of one individual and injuries to three others.
