Overnight Airstrikes and Shelling Claim Three Lives in Ukraine

According to officials, Ukraine experienced a night of devastating airstrikes and heavy shelling, resulting in three fatalities. The conflict escalated as Kyiv’s military engaged in a fierce exchange of fire with Russian occupation forces.

In the Kharkiv region, a Russian air strike claimed the lives of two people, leaving four others injured, as reported by Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the local regional military administration.

Adding to the tragedy, a guided bomb struck a blood transfusion center in the Kupyan district, leading to the death of an elderly woman. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned this act, branding it a “war crime” and emphasizing that defeating terrorists is an honorable duty for those who cherish life.

In response to the attacks, the Ukrainian air force revealed that Russian forces had launched an astounding 70 attack drones, as well as air and sea missiles during the night. The bombardment, which included cruise missiles launched from aircraft over the Caspian Sea and Iranian-made Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs, inflicted significant damage in various areas.

Among the targets, the M. Tugan-Baranovsky University of Economics and Trade in Donetsk fell victim to the attacks, with the main building catching fire. Thankfully, no casualties were reported by Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry, although the building’s roof collapsed.

Sadly, the violence was not confined to the Kharkiv region, as Ukrainian shelling in the Russian-held Donetsk resulted in the death of a woman in her eighties, according to the city’s Moscow-appointed mayor, Alexei Kulemzin.

Serhiy Tyurin, deputy head of Ukraine’s Khmelnytsky region military administration, also confirmed the destruction caused by Russian missiles in the area, injuring one person and triggering a warehouse fire. The situation remains highly volatile and continues to pose a grave threat to civilian lives and infrastructure in Ukraine.
