Wyoming is a state located in the western region of the United States. It is bordered by Montana to the north, South Dakota and Nebraska to the east, Colorado to the south, Utah to the southwest, and Idaho to its west. Wyoming is one of only three states (along with Montana and Idaho) that does not have any significant population centers; instead it consists mainly of vast open spaces and mountain ranges. The land area makes up 97% of Wyoming’s total territory—the tenth largest in size amongst all fifty U.S states—and has been nicknamed “The Equality State” due its relatively small population compared to other American states at around 578 thousand people as reported by 2019 estimates from US Census Bureau.

Historically inhabited by Native Americans such as Shoshone Indians before European settlement, Wyoming became part of an organized territories when France ceded Louisiana Territory including present day Wyoming’s southern portion in 1803 under Treaty Of Paris which ended French-Indian War between Britain & France . Afterward it was successively claimed by Spain then Mexico until America acquired much larger Mexican Cession after winning Mexican–American War ending in 1848 Then on July 25th 1890 , Wyoming officially become 44th state admitted into Union upon passing enabling act becoming first ever US state giving women right vote (1869). Later during World war two Japanese Internment camps were also established here opening Cheyenne Relocation Center outside city limits using agricultural labor force consisting mostly internees taken away from their home towns along pacific coast line who suffered extreme hardship while being interned there till 1945 when camp finally closed down

Nowadays Wyomings economy largely based on minerals oil industry making most money through coal production generating over $3 billion dollars annually followed closely behind natural gas extraction leading tourism sector contributing large number jobs across country especially concentrated within cities like Jackson Hole or Cody where yearly rodeo events gather millions visitors enjoying outdoors activities like fishing hunting hiking watching wildlife etc… On top this public education system provides excellent quality schools throughout each county helping students achieve highest academic standards possible taking advantage excellent surrounding environment providing plenty learning opportunities for generations come ahead.. In conclusion although smallest populated among all 50 US states having lowest density rate per square mile yet still remains important asset union offering unique mix incredible beauty great resources & friendly people should be visited least once lifetime order appreciate true splendor what wyoming offers world!
