Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson (born April 30, 1933) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, actor and activist. He reached his greatest fame during the outlaw country movement of the 1970s but has continued to write hit songs for over six decades. His music often contains elements of rock and roll, blues, jazz and folk genres as well as traditional honky tonk and western swing styles. Nelson’s career started in 1960 when he wrote “Hello Walls” for Faron Young who had a No. 1 Country & Western Hit with it that year; Willie himself scored a Top 10 C&W hit with “Crazy”, which was penned by another songwriter Patsy Cline later made famous in 1961. Since then he enjoyed success on both sides of Nashville’s musical aisle: scoring hits such as “On The Road Again” (1980), Pancho And Lefty (1982) and Always On My Mind (1982). Alongside having more than 200 albums released throughout his long career – including Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975)and Stardust (1978)-Nelson has also been inducted into several halls of fame including the Songwriters Hall Of Fame  in 1993 ,the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2000  and most recently being honored at Gershwin Prize For Popular Song By Library Congress In 2015 .Beyond singing great tunes or writing amazing lyrics ,he’s used this platform to become one America’s leading advocates for Marijuana legalization .He even founded his own brand “Willie Weed” .His philanthropic efforts include Farm Aid concerts since 1985 which have raised millions dollars towards supporting farmers across United States

In addition to being highly influential figure within music industry ,Nelson has achieved considerable successes outside medium as well ; starring roles films like Stagecoach (1986 ) Honeysuckle Rose (1981 ), Barbarosa  (1984 );appearing television series from Dr Quinn Medicine Woman To King Of The Hill ; founding record label Lone Star Records alongside creating two cable network called Outlaws Channel /RFDTV in 2003/2008 respectively & hosting Austin City Limits Festival annually since 2002
