United Arab Emirates by Joshua Brown May 1, 2023 80 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country located in the southeastern region of the Arabian Peninsula, on the Persian Gulf. It consists of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain. The UAE was formed in 1971 when six of these emirates joined together to form an independent state; later that year they were joined by Ras Al Khaimah which completed its union with them in 1972. Since then it has grown to become one of the most prosperous countries in the Middle East thanks to its vast oil reserves and strategic location at a major crossroads between Europe and Asia. This wealth has been used not only for economic development but also as foreign aid across many nations around the world including those affected by natural disasters or conflict zones like Yemen or Syria. The UAE is ruled under a constitutional monarchy system where each Emirate maintains considerable local autonomy while sharing common defence policies abroad along with other issues such as immigration control and currency exchange rates amongst others; all decisions are made collectively through consultation between leaders from each Emirate without interference from outside powers thus maintaining independence for their nation’s wellbeing both domestically and internationally . Politically speaking there have been some tensions between different factions within this union due largely to cultural differences however overall stability remains strong throughout despite occasional debates about certain topics such as human rights or freedom expression – particularly given recent developments involving Qatar who faces international sanctions imposed upon it over allegations related terrorism activity support from Doha’s government officials . Economically speaking tourism plays an important role here too providing jobs directly related services sector while simultaneously boosting GDP growth per capita income levels across various regions – making this destination attractive vacationers looking explore unique attractions found nowhere else earth such desert safaris camel racing sand skiing traditional markets opulent luxury shopping malls etc Additionally numerous businesses operate within free trade zones established allow companies take advantage low taxes favourable regulations import export activities further contributing national economy Finally though perhaps most importantly because its culture religion remain so integral part daily lives people living working united arab emirates continues serve example peaceful coexistence amongst diverse group faiths practice tolerance mutual respect creating positive environment strength solidarity prosperity
