Tucker DeVries

Tucker DeVries is an American entrepreneur and investor best known for his investments in technology companies. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 23, 1983 to parents Gary and Cheryl DeVries.

DeVries graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in economics before going on to receive his MBA at Stanford Graduate School of Business. After graduating he worked as an analyst for Goldman Sachs before moving into venture capital in 2012 when he joined Bessemer Venture Partners (BVP). While at BVP Tucker co-founded the Growth team which focused on early stage investments across multiple sectors including healthcare, enterprise software and consumer products/services. During this time Tucker led or was involved in several notable investments such as LogMeIn (IPO), AppDirect (acq by CMGI) & Cohesity ($250M Series E).

After leaving BVP Tucker went onto launch Project A Ventures, a Berlin based venture fund that focuses primarily on ecommerce and SaaS start ups within Europe but also invests globally through its network of offices located around the world including San Francisco, New York City and Tokyo. Over the last five years Klein has lead or been involved with over $300 million worth of deals involving leading European tech companies like Blacklane(BER:BLG1), Catawiki(Acq By Prosus) & Auto 1 Group(IPO). In 2020 Forbes Magazine named him one of “Europe’s Top 20 Most Influential Investors”.

Outside investing related activities DeVries enjoys playing golf traveling internationally as well being active member within various philanthropic organizations mainly focused around education access initiatives targeting underserved communities both domestically here United States & abroad most notably India where he supports efforts towards providing educational opportunities to underprivileged children living rural areas throughout country..
