The Toronto Blue Jays are a professional baseball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The team competes in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League East division. The Blue Jays play their home games at Rogers Centre, formerly known as SkyDome.

Team history:
The Blue Jays were founded on October 8th 1976 when they became one of two expansion teams to join the American League that year alongside the Seattle Mariners. They began playing competitively during their inaugural season in 1977 and quickly established themselves as an exciting young team with big expectations for future success; this expectation was met soon after when they won back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993 – making them only the second MLB franchise to do so outside of New York City’s Yankees or Mets franchises since 1958. Despite struggling through much of last decade, recent investments from ownership have seen significant improvements made both on & off field which has bolstered fan optimism heading into 2021’s campaign.

Roster:
At present, some key players who make up part of the current roster include Bo Bichette (SS), Cavan Biggio (2B), Lourdes Gurriel Jr.(LF/CF), Vladimir Guerrero Jr.(3B/DH) & Hyun Jin Ryu(SP). In addition to these stars there is also a strong core group consisting largely Canadian born talent such as Ryan Borucki (SP), Nate Pearson (RP) & James Paxton(RP). As well as other notable veterans across various positions including George Springer II (RF/CF ), Marcus Semien( SS ) & Robbie Raye( SP ).

Season records: Since entering into the league 44 years ago ,the blue jays have managed 5 postseasons appearances over 4 decades culminating with 2 world series titles within those playoffs runs; while not achieving any further playoff successes since then, they did manage 3 consecutive winning seasons between 2015 — 2017 before regressing again until 2020 where .500 record was achieved despite shortened 60 game schedule due to Covid restrictions placed upon all major sports leagues around North America .

Management : Mark Shapiro currently holds position Owner – President Business Operations for Toronto bluejays overseeing all day today operations within organization ; While sitting under him Ross Atkins serves role General Manager providing input regarding personnel decisions surrounding player transactions plus managing scouting departments amongst other duties related too recruiting new talent into organisation . Lastly Charlie Montoyo mans helm head coach responsible leading coaching staff along side developing strategies best suited towards maximizing overall potential each individual player throughout course long 162+ game regular season plus possible extra inning postseason matchups
