Teyana Taylor

Teyana Taylor (born December 10, 1990) is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, actress and record producer from Harlem NYC. She first gained recognition after being signed by Kanye West to his label G.O.O.D Music in 2012 and was featured on the track “Dark Fantasy” off of his critically acclaimed album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010). Teyana has since released two studio albums: VII (2014) and KTSE (2018), as well as a mixtape The Cassette Tape 1994 which received critical acclaim for its old-school hip hop influences mixed with her unique singing style. She also stars in VH1’s reality show “The Breaks” where she mentors young performers while balancing motherhood at home with husband Iman Shumpert who plays basketball for the Brooklyn Nets..

In 2017 Taylor became a brand ambassador for Adidas Originals making history as one of the few African Americans to represent such a large sportswear company along side other notable celebrities like Pharrell Williams and David Beckham . Her collaboration consists of apparel that celebrates modern streetwear fused with classic silhouettes modeled solely by her throughout various campaigns including “Icons Reimagined.” In 2018 she would go on to launch another collection titled “Harlem GLC” influenced by vintage sports wear designs from 70’s & 80’s New York City Basketball culture . That same year Teyana collaborated again with Adidas creating signature sneakers named after her daughter Junie called ‘Junie Spikes”.

Taylor is credited not only for breaking boundaries within fashion but also music production having executive produced both projects: VII & KTSE under Get Lifted Records alongside long time collaborator Def Jam Recordings executive No ID , frequent collaborator Hit Boy plus many more producers bringing those pieces together musically providing fans new sounds they hadn’t heard before when it comes to RnB/Soul music today .
